Schools

All schools in Kaldus will be state run. This may sound like communism, but the role of a state run education system will be to provide a consistent education curriculum. This will also mean that the student will be provided with the same essentials since the school can buy in quantities of a million or more. This means production of these systems will be cheaper since they will be done at scale. Since all schools are state run, there will be a computer that runs on Kal-OS. The ebook reader and tablet will support .klib files which will allow the student to have a consistent experience.

As for receiving the essentials, all students will receive them, even in special education, and higher education schools. This is to keep them with updated hardware, and serve the roles that the essentials will need to serve. Yes, a special education student may not everything, but there is no reason to treat them less than the other students. As for tuition, the essentials are baked into the price of the essentials so they will receive new items even if their current devices are still functional.

For students that are developmentaly challenged, and STEM education is simply too advanced for them will be provided with a simpler education class that would focus on themselves, and their individual needs. An example, the student will learn personal hygiene, and basic health courses. They will also learn how to use public transit, and this will help them get around. They will learn personal finance, and how to grocery shop. They will learn how to perform a job where the task are repetitive, and possibly menial, but still needs to be done. Special education students will be picked up at their residence, and taken to their school, When leaving school, the mini-bus will take the student from school to their home.

Grade schools ranges from age 6-18. This will allow the student to learn on a STEM focused education which might seem advanced for some school systems. For example, pre-algebra will be done at 4th grade, and algebra at 5th grade. This can be done as school lasts through the entire year. This means there does not need to be a few weeks to reteach what the students might have forgot since there isn’t a 3 month hiatus. Also, with school all year round, this gives an extra 3 months to the Kaldan student that other countries might not be willing to do. Also, all school days are 8 hours even at 1st grade. This means longer school days, longer school years, and a STEM focused education will mean that the Kaldan student will be able to compete on the world stage when they graduate from their education.

For trade school, this will include education that would receive a certificate rather than a degree. Examples will electrician, mechanics, and plumbers. The advantage of trade school is the student can get a job in at most 2 years. However, a wise student will take an advantage of the trade school lessons for their high school education allowing them to receive a certificate upon graduating from high school. Since the entire 8 hours is not dedicated to the trade, this will mean the student will have to take 4 years to complete their trade course even if schooling is normally only 2 years.

There will be one university, and this will be Kaldus University. Kaldus University will provide for all degree programs such as business administration, accounting, or most medical field occupations. A student will likely need to take an education loan for university education. However, in fields that are important for the nation will receive grants and scholarships for their field.
