.klib files

The Kaldan Library will be a completely new concept for most. The national Kaldan Library will be completely digital. In addition, there will be handwritten notes that must also be supported. With all that said, there has to be a new format that would support the needs of not only the general public, but with school students as well.

The .klib format will be such file. One would be able to borrow ebooks from the national library, and those files will be .klib files. The time to borrow the ebook will be 2 weeks. If the book is not in queue for other people to borrow, the borrower can request another 2 weeks. As long as the reader has Internet access, the change in borrowing time will be adjusted. The .klib file format will allow the borrower to mark a page as a bookmarked, even if they have to borrow the ebook at another time.

A Kaldan resident will also be able to buy ebooks which will be in the .klib format. If they have an eBook tablet, they will be able to write handwritten notes in the ebook, and the .klib file will be adjusted to match those notes. .klib files will be the best way to do this without having to work with a file format not optimized for such. The ebook reader will also support other formats, but there must be at least one ebook reader that will support the .klib format. This might require that the government create their own computer company to produce the ebook readers.

In addition to books, on supported ebook tablets that support a stylus, the owner can create handwritten notes. This could be a diary, journal, or notes for things that needs to be done. These handwritten notes will be able to be imported to a computer with a supported program. The idea will be to use the computer to convert handwritten notes into text. This will obviously only be possible if the written notes are legible enough. There will be unlimited number of digital notebooks, and unlimited number of pages. The only restriction will be the be the file size of the SD card the files are sitting on.
