Students will be provided with a 1 liter water bottle. The bottle will be all metal for the body, and there will be a hard plastic cap that would also allow for it to close. There will be a spare cap in case something happened to the first cap, and additional caps will be available in the school store. To make the most of these bottles, there will be water filling stations that would be designed to support these standard bottles. The filling station as the name implies will allow for filling water in these bottles.
Rationale
Students will be in school for 7-8 hours a day Monday through Friday. It would also include the weekend if the student needs remedial education. Because of that, it will be inhumane to prevent the student access to water. The bottles will be an included part of the school package so that every student can access clean water. And while water fountains can work, they aren’t the most sanitary option. In addition, since all students will have to wait for the in class break to drink, this could lead to longer lines. Students will drink at varying frequencies, and therefore less likely to have a long line at the filling station.
The reason for the extra cap is in case the first cap breaks. This could be something as simple as dropping it, and the cap hitting the floor. The second cap will be. essential, and will allow for the student to purchase a new cap as soon as possible.
